
South Spartanburg Fire
South Spartanburg Fire is a combination department with paid staff and volunteers. We cover approximately 29 square miles of suburban and rural area outside the City of Spartanburg. This includes 13 miles of interstate, 5 miles of railroad, 7 large underground fuel/gas pipelines, 3 miles of high tension power lines, a propane distribution site, 1 power substation, and 5 schools. Dorman High School has approximately 3500 student & staff and a football stadium that seats 15,000. We run approximately 950 fire incidents each year and back up EMS on cardiac arrest calls.

We take great pride in the services our dedicated firefighters provide to make our beautiful community a wonderful place to work and live.
Over the last fifty years, the South Spartanburg Fire Department has expanded its services to meet the ever-changing needs of the community. Our leaders have set up automatic response areas with our neighboring fire departments to provide equipment and manpower response equal only to that which you would find in larger cities. This has been done without any additional taxing to our community.
The South Spartanburg Fire Department works diligently to provide the protection our citizens have come to expect and deserve. Our dedication is to the citizens of our community. We value our community partnerships that are vital to maintaining a safe and prospering community.
