Who We Are

The South Spartanburg Fire District is a newly formed consolidation of the Roebuck and Croft Fire Districts, organized in January of 2022. The combination (career and volunteer) fire district provides an all-hazards emergency service to approximately 42.9 square miles in its primary response area, in addition to working with automatic aid partners thereby increasing the coverage area to approximately 300 square miles. Within the primary response area the population served is approximately 20,000 citizens, this number increases when the automatic aid response areas are included. The primary response area of the community is a combination of suburban and rural, while the automatic aid responses range from city urban areas to the other end of the spectrum in rural areas. The South Spartanburg Fire District regularly responds to over 1,500 emergency and service calls annually.
